Mr Marwan Ghabra brings over 30 years of clinical, surgical and logistical experience to the Harley Street Eye Centre team. Mr Ghabra is an internationally renowned surgeon, credited with introducing new procedures such as the first phacoemulsification cataract procedure in Damascus, Syria in 1998 and thus revolutionizing the ophthalmic landscape in the process.
A senior consultant at Barts Healthcare Authority Mr Ghabra has been heavily involved in the teaching and training of young ophthalmologists in London.
In addition to being a Consultant Ophthalmologist, Mr Marwan Ghabra is a keen inventor, focusing on ophthalmic devices designed to tackle huge unmet needs in the ophthalmic space.
Mr Ghabra is co-founder of MAG Optics Inc, an ophthalmic device innovation company based in Boston, USA as part of Johnson & Johnson's incubator JLabs. MAG Optics Inc is now gearing up for its first FDA study to bring this exciting technology to doctors and patients alike.
Mr Ghabra brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, innovative entrepreneurism and business experience to the management of Harley Street Eye Centre and other affiliate satellite clinics internationally.
